Tigist is a devoted mother who lost her husband and has faced incredible challenges raising her four children alone. Once the owner of a small beauty salon, she was forced to shut it down during the COVID-19 pandemic and sell everything just to feed her family. She took on any work she could find washing clothes and offering traditional hairdressing but couldn’t afford school supplies, leaving her children unable to attend school.
With the support of Beteseb Charity, Tigist was able to restart her hairdressing business and provide her older son with shoe-shining tools so he could contribute to his own education. Now, she not only supports her family but also sends her children to school with pride. Her youngest son recently underwent surgery, and Tigist has managed to cover the medical expenses herself through motherly determination. Though another operation is also coming, Tigist remains hopeful and strong, humbly asking for prayers as she continues her journey with Beteseb Charity standing by her side.

Mihiret Hailemariam’s family depended entirely on her husband’s income, but everything changed when she lost him. After that, their three children were forced to drop out of school due to a lack of educational materials. For the family, even attending school became a luxury, and securing daily meals was a constant struggle.
Determined to turn things around, Mihiret completed a business skills training provided by BETESEB charity and seed money, started a small business selling coffee and tea near Hawassa Lake, a well-known tourist destination and traditional Ethiopian coffee spot. She expanded her offerings to include bottled water, tea, and breakfast items. Her business now allows her to send her children back to school and meet their daily needs, demonstrating the life-changing power of even a small donation.
